Same Story Different Day Pens Lose

Penguins AT Bruins
2   4

I was all prepared to write an article entailing how it might just be time to push that "Panic Button" and make some changes to the team like maybe trading some "Luxury" guys for some wingers that can finish the work of Sid and Geno. But I decided to put this off for now after the performance the Pens put on last night in Boston. Now because I got caught flipping between the Pens game and the Rose Bowl I missed some things during the game so I will give a recap my best shot. First thing I noticed was that "The Waterboy" Phillipe Boucher was not in the lineup good call on that one Therrien, why did we trade for this guy anyway. Letang was back in action but Therrien had him playing alot of wing, granite he was getting the puck to the net alot but he is a DEFENSEMAN not a winger.

1st Period

The Pens got started right away in this one with a goal from Dustin Jeffery 3 minutes into the game. The Bruins were not to be out done though scoring their own goal only a minute later. About 5 minutes later Go-Go takes a delay of game penalty for shooting the puck over the glass. Boston goes on the powerplay and takes it home 2-1 Bruins. The Pens were not going to lay down in this one and let the Bruins take another easy win and continued to fight through the rest of the period.

2nd Period

The second period started off like the firs ended which was a pretty balanced hockey game, and the Penguins were showing signs of life like they were coming out of the daze they have been in for the past month. It took about 13 minutes in this period but Milan Lucic tickled the twine to give the Bruins a 3-1 lead over the Pens. At this point we were thinking not again another rout what a great way to start the year.

3rd Period

The Penguins came out fighting in the third period and Fedotenko buried one 6 minutes into the frame to cut the lead to 3-2. The Penguins looked on fire and like they were prepared to leave Boston with a win but Manny Fernadez came up strong and robbed every scoring chance the Penguins had. The Bruins added a late empty net goal to make it a 4-2 game.
