Even though the Devils have already been eliminated from the playoffs they came to play, dominating the game for much of the start. The Devils did however find themselves in some penalty trouble and you can give the leagues worst power play unit so many chances before it converts on a Jordan Staal backhand to give the Pens a 1-0 lead. The Penguins gained some momentum from this and were able to draw another penalty towards the end of the period but you guessed same result as the past 48 times on the power play no dice.
The Devils bounced back on the stick on Pittsburgh villian Dave Steckel whom caught Fleury napping after the Reverend Lovejoy made a bad play on a pass from behind the net. The tie was short lived as Dupers banged one home to put the Penguins back into the drivers seat.
The proud father Chris Kunitz gave the Penguins a 3-1 lead early in the third which at the time was thought to be the nail in the coffin, but Brian Rolston decided to make things a little interesting with a goal to bring the Devils with in one 3-minutes later. The Pens ate shit for a little but were able to hold off the Devils and Dupers sealed things up with an empty netter as Moose skated off the ice for the extra attacker. The Penguins play next on Friday against the Islanders in Long Island.
